Tire Wear

~1min read

Tire wear life depends on tire pressure. Excessive or insufficient tire pressure shortens tire life and degrades the vehicle's handling characteristics.

During prolonged high-speed driving, the loads on under-inflated tires increase and the tires overheat. The rate of tread wear increases, and the tire may even burst. In addition, fuel consumption increases.

Therefore, check the tire pressure at least twice a month and before every long trip, including the spare wheel. Check pressure on cold tires; pressure in warm tires is slightly higher. Do not reduce the pressure in warm tires! Specified pressure values are shown on the label on the inside of the fuel filler flap.

On versions with full-profile decorative wheel covers, the valve extension is routed outward.

Used to check and adjust tire pressure. Unscrewing is not necessary. Tire wear also increases due to fast cornering, rapid acceleration and braking.

Incorrect wheel installation and alignment errors also contribute to this. In these cases, the tires usually wear rapidly on one side, and vehicle stability is also impaired. Specialist assistance is required.

Признаки износа шин Признаками износа шин являются небольшие поперечные потертости,

Signs of Tire Wear: Small transverse grooves, 1.6 mm deep, in 6-8 places evenly spaced around the circumference of the tire.

Markings on the sidewalls of the tires in the form of letters.

For example, TWI or a triangle indicate the permissible wear limit.

If the tread pattern is no longer visible at these points, the tire must be replaced.
