Battery Charging
When charging the battery from a low-voltage source (for example, a small battery charger), the cables may be left connected to the vehicle electrical system.
Charge the battery in accordance with the charger manufacturer's instructions.
During intensive charging from high-voltage sources, disconnecting the cables from the vehicle electrical system is mandatory.
First disconnect the negative (-) cable, then the positive (+) cable.
A discharged battery freezes already at a temperature of -10°C. Before intensive charging, it must be warmed up, otherwise it may explode.
The connection procedure is as follows: First, attach the charger clamps to the terminals according to polarity: red — positive polarity (+).
black — negative polarity (-).
After this, plug the charger into the mains.
During battery charging, flammable explosive hydrogen gas is released. Therefore, charge the battery away from open flames and sources of ignition. When connecting the battery to the vehicle electrical system, perform the same actions in reverse order. Connect the positive cable first, then the negative cable.
Incorrect polarity connection may damage the vehicle electrical system.
Protect the battery from short circuits. A short circuit causes the battery to overheat and may cause it to explode.
To prevent short circuits, always disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal before starting work on the electrical system. When replacing bulbs, do not forget to switch off the corresponding switch.
Never operate the engine with the battery disconnected. This may damage the vehicle's electronic components.
