VEHICLE DRIVING RECOMMENDATIONS

~2min read

First 1000 km. During the first hours of vehicle operation, engine friction is greater than later, when all parts have worn in. How this break-in period proceeds depends largely on the driving style.

One of the fundamental conditions: until the vehicle has covered the first 1000 km, do not drive at full throttle.

Furthermore, the following speeds, expressed in km/h, must not be exceeded.

Gear Mileage 0 to 1000 km 1st gear 30 2nd gear 55 3rd gear 80 4th gear 110 5th gear 125

During this period, the maximum permissible engine speed must not exceed 4200 rpm.

Mileage from 1000 to 1500 km. You may gradually increase to full speed or to the maximum permissible engine speed.

Period after break-in

Shift to the next higher gear when the tachometer needle enters the maximum engine speed range. The briefly permissible maximum engine speed should be about 6300 rpm.

During this time, the critically excessive engine speed is limited by a special device.

Table of speeds, expressed in km/h, for individual gears on vehicles with a turbo diesel engine:

1st gear 34 2nd gear 60 3rd gear 91 4th gear 120 5th gear maximum speed

Important Recommendations

- With a cold engine, never allow high engine speeds, either in neutral or at idle. All the calculations above are based on a warmed-up engine.

- Never drive at high engine speeds unnecessarily. Timely shifting to the next gear saves fuel and reduces noise.

- Also avoid driving at engine speeds that are too low. If the engine does not handle the load, shift to a lower gear immediately.

- Remember that tires also need to be broken in to achieve their optimal grip on the road. For the first 100 km, drive carefully and gently.
