Shift Pattern
Engaging Reverse Gear: Reverse gear can only be engaged when the vehicle is stationary. When the ignition is on, the reverse lights illuminate simultaneously with engaging reverse gear. Accidental shifting from 5th forward gear directly into reverse is not possible; to prevent this, the shift lever must first be moved to 3rd or 4th gear.
While driving, do not rest your hand on the gear shift lever, as the pressure of your hand is transmitted to the shift fork and causes it to wear prematurely.
When shifting from 5th to 4th forward gear, take care not to apply lateral force to the shift lever and accidentally engage 2nd gear. The resulting sudden high engine speed may damage the engine.
