HEATING AND VENTILATION/AIR CONDITIONER

Air ducts
Air ducts: Normal, heated or cooled air is supplied to the passenger compartment through the air ducts.
Airflow distribution is adjusted with rotary control 3 — see illustration.
Air ducts 3 and 4 are opened and closed separately using the knobs located next to the air outlet grilles.
Vertical or horizontal airflow direction is adjusted by built-in louvers with handles for changing their position.

Controls
Air intake is adjusted by the 4 switch positions.
In position
— air intake is shut off.
B Air temperature switch
Supply air temperature is adjusted by turning the switch clockwise. Turn right to increase the temperature, turn left to decrease it.
C Airflow distribution switch: directs airflow to the footwell area.
Open air ducts 5.
Air ducts 3-4 should be closed.
Airflow direction for heating and defrosting the windshield and side windows. To do this, open air ducts 1 and 2.
Air ducts 1 and 2 closed.
In this control position, air is supplied through air ducts 3 and 4 and in a small amount through air outlet 5.
D Air conditioning (A/C) switch. * When the air conditioner is switched on, the indicator lamp built into the switch illuminates.
E Air recirculation switch (REC)*
Recirculation mode is activated when the air conditioner is operating. In this mode, outside air intake is shut off and only the air inside the vehicle circulates.
Heating, defrosting the windshield and side windows
Turn switch A to position III.
Switch B — turn clockwise to the right stop.
Switch C — set to the symbol
Close air ducts 4.
Adjust the direction of the additional warm airflow through air ducts 3 with the louvers toward the side windows.
Continuous airflow of warm air onto the windshield and side windows (drying, fog prevention)
If the windows fog up due to high air humidity, for example during rain, the following airflow adjustment procedure is recommended: Turn switch A to position II or III.
If necessary, set the temperature switch to maximum.
Close air ducts 4.
Optimal method for rapid interior heating
Switch A — to position III.
Switch C — to the symbol
Temperature switch — to the right stop.
Open air ducts 3 and 4.
Maintaining a constant comfortable temperature in the passenger compartment
After the windows are dry and the required temperature is set in the passenger compartment, the following adjustment procedure is recommended: Switch A — to position II or III.
Temperature switch B — to the desired temperature setting.
Switch C — to the symbol
Adjust air ducts 3 and 4 as desired.
Forced ventilation (fresh air intake)
The temperature of the air supplied to the passenger compartment through air ducts 3-4 is adjusted by temperature control switch 2. Depending on the switch position, it can be normal, heated or cold.
When switch C is set to the symbol
air will be blown at maximum intensity.
Cooling air* The fastest way to lower the temperature in the passenger compartment:
Close all windows and the sliding/tilting vent flap.
Press buttons D and E to switch on the air conditioner in recirculation mode.
Temperature switch B — to the left stop.
Switch A — to position III. Control C — to the symbol
Open air ducts 3 and 4 and adjust as desired.
At least one of them must remain permanently open, otherwise icing of the cooling unit may occur.
Normal method for lowering the passenger compartment temperature:
Press switch D or D-E; the indicator lamps built into them should illuminate.
Use control B to select a suitable temperature setting.
Switch A — set to any position from I to III as desired.
Rotary control C — to any position as desired.
Open and adjust the airflow direction of air outlets 3 and 4.
At least one of them must also remain permanently open, otherwise icing of the cooling unit may occur.
