Voltage regulator

~1min read

The alternator in the vehicle can be compared to a bicycle dynamo: the faster it rotates, the higher the voltage and thus the current produced. Vehicle electrical consumers could not withstand such fluctuations over a long period, so a special regulator must limit the alternator voltage and prevent overcharging of the battery. This regulator, an electronic voltage regulator, is mounted directly on the alternator.
