The traction battery, of Li-ion (lithium-ion) type, stores the electrical energy used to drive the vehicle.

It is located under the rear seats.

The range of the traction battery varies depending on driving style, route, use of thermal comfort equipment and ageing of its components.

Traction battery ageing depends on several parameters, such as climatic conditions or mileage driven.

To preserve your vehicle's range and the service life of your traction battery, CITROËN recommends that you:

- Avoid fully charging the battery of your electric vehicle on a daily basis (keep the traction battery charge below 80% as often as possible).

- Do not fully discharge the battery.

- Do not store the vehicle when not in use for a long period (more than 12 hours) when the traction battery charge level is low or high.

Preferably keep the charge level between 20 and 40%.

- Limit use of fast charging.

- Do not expose the vehicle to temperatures below -30 ºC or above +60 ºC for more than 24 hours.

- Avoid charging the vehicle at negative temperatures (unless the vehicle has been driven for more than 20 minutes) or above +30 ºC.

- Do not use the vehicle's traction battery as a power generator.

- Do not use a generator to charge your vehicle's traction battery.

If the traction battery is damaged

Working on the vehicle yourself is strictly prohibited.

Do not touch any liquid leaking from the battery and, in case of skin contact with these products, rinse thoroughly with water and consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Contact the CITROËN network or a qualified workshop to have the system checked.

Disposal of the traction battery

The traction battery is designed to last the service life of the vehicle, provided CITROËN's recommendations are followed.

If the battery needs to be replaced, contact the CITROËN network for instructions on its disposal. Incorrect disposal entails risks of serious burns, electric shock and environmental damage.

In compliance with regulations, CITROËN ensures a second life or recycling of its components in collaboration with the competent operators.

The charging flap is located on the rear left side of the vehicle.
