A/C Receiver-Drier Removal and Installation
The air conditioning system is always under high pressure. Never disconnect refrigerant lines or remove any system components without first discharging the system. System discharge must be performed by an experienced technician in a repair shop. Always wear safety glasses when disconnecting refrigerant lines!
When replacing air conditioning components, a certain amount of replacement refrigerant oil will be required to fill the new component. Use only oil approved for R-134a systems (carefully read the label on the container).
PROCEDURE
1. Discharge the air conditioning system at a specialized repair shop.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
If the vehicle's audio system is equipped with an anti-theft code, make sure you have the correct code to reactivate the audio system before disconnecting the battery!

3. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the receiver-drier and immediately cap the open ends of the lines and fittings to prevent dirt from entering the system. Disconnect the wiring from the pressure switch.
4. Loosen the retaining bolt and remove the receiver-drier assembly from the bracket.
5. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to replace the O-rings on the fittings.
6. Recharge the system and check it for leaks at a specialized repair shop. When replacing the receiver-drier, add approximately 10 ml of refrigerant oil to the system.
