Ignition switch - ST terminal and starter interlock switch (A/T models)

ST TERMINAL AND STARTER INTERLOCK SWITCH (A/T MODELS)
When the ignition key is turned to the "START" position, battery voltage is supplied through the ST terminal of the ignition switch and the starter interlock switch to the ECM. If the A/T selector lever is in any position other than "P" or "N", battery voltage is NOT supplied to the ECM. Based on this signal, the ECM determines the A/T operating mode and controls the idle air control (ISA) servo to obtain optimal idle speed.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS If the starter start signal from the starter interlock switch is incorrect, even though the starter interlock switch harness and the switch itself are normal, check the adjustment of the A/T control cable.
