Fuel Tank - Removal

FUEL TANK
REMOVAL

1. Press the two latches under the rear seat, lift the seat cushion, then remove the service panel to access the fuel pump.

2. To relieve residual pressure from the fuel lines and high-pressure hoses, disconnect the fuel pump connector, then start the engine and let it run. After the engine stalls by itself, turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
To prevent fuel spray, make sure residual pressure in the high-pressure fuel lines is released before disconnecting the main fuel tubes and hoses.

3. Disconnect the wire from the negative (-) battery terminal.
4. Disconnect the high-pressure fuel hose from the outlet fitting of the fuel filter and disconnect the static electricity ground wire.
Due to residual pressure in the high-pressure fuel line, cover the hose connection to the fuel rail with a shop rag to prevent fuel spray.
5. Raise the vehicle.
6. Disconnect the filler neck hose and the vent hose from the fuel tank.

7. Support the fuel tank with a floor jack or other temporary support.
8. Remove the fuel tank straps.

9. Remove the fuel tank.
