DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

The EVAP canister purge solenoid valve is a component of the evaporative emission control system. The solenoid valve controls the purge of fuel vapor from the EVAP canister with air.

DTC SET CONDITIONS

The ECM will store DTC P0444 and illuminate the MIL if an open circuit is detected in the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve control circuit during two consecutive driving cycles.

The ECM will store DTC P0445 and illuminate the MIL if a short circuit is detected in the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve control circuit during two consecutive driving cycles.
