MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY - COMPONENTS

REMOVAL

1. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil from the transmission.

2. Remove the clutch slave cylinder (Refer to Section CH - "Clutch").

3. Remove the air cleaner housing assembly.

4. Remove the battery and battery tray.

5. Disconnect the select cable and shift cable (Refer to the "MANUAL TRANSMISSION SHIFT MECHANISM" section).

6. Disconnect the back-up lamp switch connector.

7. Disconnect the speedometer cable.

8. Disconnect the clutch cable or the clutch hydraulic line.

9. Remove the engine under cover and the transmission side cover.

10. Remove the front and rear engine mount assemblies.

11. Remove the left and right front wheel assemblies.

12. Remove the bolt securing the front strut to the steering knuckle.

13. Remove the drive shafts.

14. Remove the starter motor.

15. Secure the engine to the special tool (crossbar 09200-38001) using the mounting brackets.

16. Remove the transmission mount (left side).

17. Remove the upper transmission mounting bolt.

18. Remove the transmission case protector.

19. Install a transmission jack under the transmission.

20. Remove the lower transmission mounting bolt.

21. Remove the clutch cover and clutch disc.

22. Remove the flywheel.

23. Remove the transmission.

INSTALLATION 1. Install parts in the reverse order of removal.
