Reducing Pressure Adjustment

~2min read

Adjustment without Tester 1. Remove the parts up to the oil filter in the same order as described in the main line pressure adjustment procedure. Removing the valve body assembly is not required.

2. Turn the adjusting screw on the bottom of the valve body assembly and adjust the reducing pressure to the specified value. Turning the adjusting screw clockwise decreases reducing pressure. Turning it counterclockwise increases reducing pressure.

Standard value:

420 ± 20 kPa Change in oil pressure per adjusting screw turn:

22 kPa 3. Install the oil filter and oil pan in the same order as described in the main line pressure adjustment procedure.

4. Check the AT hydraulic control pressure. If necessary, repeat the pressure adjustment.

Adjustment with Tester 5. Using the tester ACTUATOR TEST mode, force the pressure control solenoid valve (PCSV) to a 50% duty cycle and measure the kickdown brake pressure at that time.

If the kickdown brake pressure is not within the specified range, adjust the pressure using the adjusting screw.

Standard value:

320 ± 30 kPa Change in oil pressure per adjusting screw turn:

30 kPa 6. After completing this adjustment, check that the reducing pressure is within the range of 370 – 490 kPa.

Perform the adjustment with the AT fluid (ATF) temperature at 70-80°C. If the adjustment is performed at too high an ATF temperature, the main line pressure will drop when the engine is running at idle, and correct adjustment will not be possible.
