| DTCs P1704, P1703 and P1702: Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Its Circuit | Possible Cause |
| If the throttle position sensor output voltage is 4.8 V or higher while the engine is idling, the voltage is considered high and DTC P1704 is stored in the ECU memory. If the throttle position sensor output voltage is 0.2 V or lower under any condition other than engine idling, the voltage is considered low and DTC P1703 is stored in the ECU memory. If the throttle position sensor output voltage is 0.2 V (or lower) or 1.2 V (or higher) while the engine is idling, the throttle position sensor (TPS) adjustment is considered incorrect and DTC P1702 is stored in the ECU memory. | Faulty throttle position sensor / Faulty (poor contact) connector / Faulty TCM |
