Defroster

To avoid damaging the conductors bonded to the inside of the rear window, never use a sharp instrument or abrasive window cleaner to clean the glass.

To defrost or defog the windshield, see “Windshield Defrosting and Defogging” later in this section.

Rear Window Defroster

The rear window defroster heats the rear window to remove frost, fog, and thin ice from the inside and outside surfaces when the engine is running.

To use the rear window defroster, press the defroster button located on the switch panel of the center console. The defroster button indicator light illuminates when the defroster is on.

If there is a heavy buildup of snow on the rear window, remove it before using the defroster.

The rear window defroster turns off automatically after approximately 20 minutes, or when the ignition key is turned to OFF. To turn off the defroster manually, press the rear window defroster button again.

Outside Mirror Defroster (if equipped)

If the vehicle is equipped with heated outside mirrors, they will activate together with the rear window defroster.
