SRS Malfunction Indicator

The SRS indicator warns the driver of a malfunction in the airbags, sensors or seat belt pretensioners.
When the ignition is turned on (key in the ON (II) position), the indicator lights up briefly and then goes out.
This indicates that the supplemental restraint system is operating normally.
However, if the indicator lights up at any other time, or if it does not light up at all when the ignition is turned on, have the system checked at a dealer service station. For example:
The SRS indicator does not light up when the ignition is turned on (key in the ON (II) position).
The indicator remains lit after the engine is started.
The indicator comes on when the vehicle moves and stays on steadily or flashes.
In addition, the following icon appears on the multi-information display: "
", which may be accompanied by the message "CHECK SYSTEM" (see page 105).
If any of the above symptoms are present, the SRS airbag and seat belt pretensioner systems will not function and will not protect you when you need them.

WARNING
Ignoring an illuminated SRS indicator may result in serious injury or death to the driver and passengers, because the airbags or seat belt pretensioners may not deploy.
If the SRS indicator shows signs of malfunction, have the system inspected and repaired by an authorized Honda dealer or service station as soon as possible.
