Transporting Teenagers in the Vehicle
A teenager who no longer needs to use child restraints or infant seats also risks serious injury from the frontal airbag if riding in the front passenger seat.
We recommend placing teenagers in the rear seat, using a booster cushion and properly fastening the child with the seat belt (necessary information on teenager safety is provided on page 60).
In all cases, you should become familiar with local legislation and child passenger safety rules.
Some vehicle models are equipped with special labels that provide information warning of the possible risk of child injury from airbags, as well as the need for proper use of child restraint systems when transporting children in the vehicle.
It is strongly recommended that you read the contents of these labels and follow the instructions they contain exactly.

WARNING

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!
If the vehicle is equipped with a front passenger airbag, do not install a rear-facing child restraint on the front passenger seat.
In accordance with the requirements of ECE Regulation No. 94:

WARNING

DO NOT install a child restraint in which the child faces rearward on the front passenger seat.
FAILURE TO OBSERVE THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH OF THE CHILD.
