Risk of Child Injury from Side Airbags
In this manual: Driver and Passenger Safety
~1min read
Side airbags are designed to protect adult passengers in the event of a moderate or severe side impact.
If any part of a child's body is within the deployment area of an inflating airbag, the child may be seriously injured or killed.
Warning labels are located in the front door openings to remind you of the potential risk of injury from deployment of the side airbags.

WARNING

If a child leans against the front door, the child may be seriously or even fatally injured if the side airbag deploys.
Sit upright with your back against the seatback.
