Always shift to the highest gear that allows the engine to run normally without strain and the vehicle to accelerate smoothly. This reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.

Recommended upshift speeds:

1.8 L engine

2.0 L engine (Type R)

2.2 L engine (diesel):

Your vehicle is equipped with an LED tachometer indicator that allows you to quickly see, while driving, how close the tachometer needle is to the red zone (see page 86).
