i-SHIFT System Warning Light (manual transmission with automated shift mode)

i-SHIFT System Warning Light (manual transmission with automated shift mode)
If this indicator comes on and remains lit while the vehicle is moving (in any gear), the i-SHIFT transmission control system may be faulty or the clutch may be overheated. In this case, avoid sudden acceleration, frequent gear changes and driving at high speed, and have the vehicle checked by an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
In addition, the following icon appears on the multi-information display: "
", which may be accompanied by the message "CHECK SYSTEM" (see page 106).
If the indicator came on because the clutch overheated, it should turn off after the clutch has cooled. If the indicator turns off on the way to the dealer, you may continue driving normally.
The icon and warning message disappear from the display at the same time the i-SHIFT indicator turns off.
If the gear position indicator does not show an engaged gear, you will not be able to continue driving.
See the section "Towing a Disabled Vehicle" on page 479.
If the indicator flashes on and off during normal driving, you should also have the vehicle checked by an authorized dealer.

WARNING
Continuing to drive with the i-SHIFT indicator on may cause serious damage to the transmission or clutch system.
Whenever you leave the vehicle parked, always apply the parking brake. To prevent the vehicle from rolling away on a slope, make sure the parking brake is securely engaged.
Vehicles with i-SHIFT transmission: Before turning off the engine, make sure that the gear position indicator displays the required gear number.
