If a short stop is required while driving with the engine idling, leave any gear engaged, press the brake pedal firmly and release the accelerator pedal.

Before continuing to drive, make sure that the gear position indicator shows the number of the required gear.

However, if the driver presses the brake pedal and the vehicle slows to a certain speed, the transmission automatically downshifts to a lower gear so that the engine does not stall.
