Automatic Transmission - Installation (For F4A42)

1. Connect the torque converter on the transaxle side, then install the transaxle assembly to the engine.

If the torque converter is installed to the engine first, the transaxle oil seal will be damaged when installing the transaxle. Therefore, always install the torque converter from the transaxle side before assembling the powertrain.

2. Install the A/T control cable and adjust it as follows:

a. Move the A/T selector lever and the inhibitor switch (A/T selector switch) on the transaxle to the "N" position, then connect the A/T control cable.

b. After connecting the A/T control cable to the intermediate bracket on the transaxle mount bracket, secure the cable with the clip.

c. Turn the adjusting nut to adjust the A/T control cable at the inhibitor switch (A/T selector switch) so that there is no free play in the cable. Then check that the A/T selector lever shifts smoothly and correctly.

d. Visually check the A/T control cable adjustment.

3. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
