Before any work on the injection system, use the diagnostic tool to check:
- that the injection rail is no longer under pressure,
- that the fuel temperature is not high.
- Always observe the safety and cleanliness instructions given in this document during every operation.
- Never loosen a high-pressure pipe connection while the engine is running.
- Use the special plug kit for the high-pressure injection circuit.
- Always replace any high-pressure pipe and high-pressure pipe clips that have been removed.
REMOVAL
- Remove the engine covers.

- Disconnect:
- the battery,
- the air intake duct (1).

- Remove the diesel anti-protection plate (2).

- Disconnect:
- the glow plugs,
- the injector connectors (3) for cylinders No. 3 and No. 4,
- the pump electrical connectors (4),
- the return and supply pipe (5).

- Remove the high-pressure pipe (6) from injector No. 4 (see High-Pressure Pipes).
- Fit plugs to the openings.
- Loosen the two clamp screws (7).
- Extract the flow actuator (proceed by hand in small successive turns).
CAUTION Do not use the electrical connector as a lever.
INSTALLATION
WARNINGRemove the protective plugs only at the last moment, for each component.
- Unpack the new component just before fitting it.
CAUTION Do not damage the seal when refitting.
Note: Do not lubricate the seals with grease or used diesel. Use the sachet supplied in the new part kit.- Fit the actuator.
- Start the two fixing screws by hand.
- Tighten the two flow actuator fixing screws (0.55 +/- 0.06 daN.m) to torque using the "low torque" torque wrench tool.
- Fit a new high-pressure pipe to injector No. 4 (see High-Pressure Pipes) and a new clip.
- Reconnect:
- the diesel return and supply pipes,
- the electrical connectors.
- Refit in the reverse order of removal.
Connect the battery; carry out the necessary re-learns (see Electrical Equipment chapter).
WARNINGCheck for diesel leaks:
- Check for leaks after the repair (Diesel Injection chapter, High-Pressure Pipe: Leak Check, page 13B-48).
- Run the engine at idle until the cooling fan starts.
- Rev the engine several times without load.
- Carry out a road test.
- Switch off the ignition.
- Check that there is no diesel leakage.
