There are two methods available (Diesel injection chapter):
- an automatic method, which can be used if the information stored in the old ECU can be read,
- a manual method, which must be used when the information stored in the old ECU cannot be read.
REMOVAL
- Remove the engine covers.
- Disconnect the battery.
- Remove the battery.

- Disconnect the connectors (1) from the injection ECU.
- Remove:
- the three mounting screws (2) of the battery tray,
- the clip (3) of the wiring harness.
- Unclip the wiring harnesses from the battery tray.
- Remove the battery tray.

- Remove the injection ECU with its bracket (4).

- Remove:
- the four ECU mounting screws (5),
- the ECU.
INSTALLATION

- Refit in the reverse order of removal.
- Tighten the battery tray mounting bolts to torque (2.1 daN.m).
- Make sure to refit the battery tray correctly onto the ECU bracket.
Connect the battery; carry out the necessary re-learns (see Electrical Equipment chapter).
- Follow the instructions for teaching the C2I (individual injector correction) parameters and engine adaptive values (Diesel injection chapter).
- Switch on the ignition and read the fault codes using the diagnostic tool.
- Repair the reported faults if necessary.
- Clear the faults.
- Check that the vehicle operates correctly.
