Air Filter Replacement

VORGEHENSWEISE

1. The filter element is located inside the air cleaner housing on the left side of the engine compartment.

2. To replace the air filter, release the four spring clips securing the air cleaner housing cover to the housing.

3. Lift the cover and remove the filter element.
4. Inspect the outer surface of the element. If it is heavily soiled, replace the filter. If it is only partially soiled, blow it out with compressed air, directing the air from the inside of the element outward. The filter element is made of pleated paper and must not be washed. If the filter cannot be cleaned with compressed air, replace it. Do not allow any foreign objects to fall into the air cleaner housing while the cover is removed.
5. Wipe out the inside of the air cleaner housing.
6. Install a new filter element, making sure it is seated correctly.
7. Install the air cleaner housing cover in the reverse order of removal.
