  • Look for visible traces of grease (oily, shiny dirt) on the gaiters and in their vicinity.

  • Check that the screw or clamp clips are secure.

  • Inspect the rubber of the gaiters for porosity or cracks with a torch, turning the wheels to both sides.

  • Replace a defective gaiter immediately.
