  • Raise the vehicle.

  • Look for visible grease traces on the boots - 1 - and in their surroundings.

  • Check that the clamps - 2 - are firmly seated.

  • Examine the rubber of the boots for porosity and cracks with a lamp.

    Replace torn or inward-collapsed joint boots immediately.
