The following leak points are possible:

  • Joint between engine block and transmission (flywheel seal / transmission input shaft seal).

  • Joint between the transmission housing halves.

  • Oil filler / oil drain plug.

To locate the leak, proceed as follows:

  • Clean the transmission housing with cold cleaner.

  • Check the oil level and top up if necessary.

  • Dust possible leak points with chalk or talcum powder.

  • Carry out a test drive. To make the oil thin, drive on a main road for approx. 30 km.

  • Then raise the vehicle and check the transmission for leaks with a lamp.

  • Rectify leaks immediately.

    Then top up the oil.
