Automatic Transmission Fluid Level Check
PROCEDURE
1. Start the engine and warm up the transmission to a fluid temperature of 60–70 °C.
2. Park the vehicle on a level, horizontal surface.
3. With the engine running, depress the brake pedal and move the selector lever in sequence from the N position through all positions, then return it to the N position, holding the lever in each position for no more than 3 seconds.
4. Before removing the dipstick, wipe clean the area around it. Remove the dipstick and check the condition of the transmission fluid. Check the color of the fluid in the automatic transmission. Check the fluid for any unusual odor. To identify any change in fluid color and odor, compare it with fresh fluid.

5. Check the fluid level, which should be between the HOT marks. If necessary, add the required amount of the specified fluid.
Automatic transmission fluid type: GENUINE DIAMOND ATF SP–II
Low fluid level can cause many malfunctions, since air enters the fluid and the fluid-air mixture becomes compressible, leading to erratic pressure changes and impaired operation of the clutches and band brakes.
Likewise, an excessively high fluid level causes the rotating gears of the transmission to churn the fluid into foam, which produces the same results as air entering the transmission fluid.
