Description and Operation
Power Window Safety Function
When the driver's door window auto-up switch is operated, the safety function is active.
Safety Function Status
When a force of 100 N is detected (using a 10 N/mm spring) during window up movement, the window moves down.
Window reverse distance (except when holding the auto-up switch)
When a pinch is detected within 4 mm to 250 mm from the top of the B-pillar, → the window moves down 300 mm from the top of the center pillar.
→ The window moves down 300 mm from the top of the center pillar.

When a pinch is detected at more than 250 mm from the top of the B-pillar.
→ The window moves down to the lowest position if the total length of the caught object plus 50 mm is below the lowest window position.

Window Down Movement Length (holding the Auto Down switch)
When a pinch is detected while pressing the Auto Up switch.
→ The window moves down 25 mm from the lock position.
The Auto Up function is unavailable for 5 seconds after the above operation.
→ When the Auto Up switch is pressed, the Manual Up function is activated (no safety function).

Area Without Safety Function
The safety function is not available within 4 mm from the top of the window frame.
How to Initialize the Safety Power Window
Battery Connection Initialization
When battery power is disconnected for more than 5 minutes, the power window safety switch requires initialization.
Window Operation Before Initialization
Manual up/down function is available.
Auto Up/Down Function Unavailable
(If the Auto Up/Down switch is pressed, the manual up/down function operates.)
Initialization
Close the window from the open position and hold the switch in the fully closed window position for 0.2 seconds.
(If closing of the window is started from the fully closed window position, initialization may fail.)
If the power window safety function is initialized while the window is pinched, the following conditions may occur.
Safety Function Not Available
A Hall sensor with position memory is used to detect the window position and motor operating direction. The ECU detects the highest window position and sets that position as "0".
Deinitialization
The ECU is deinitialized when the following conditions are met. After the deinitialization process, the auto function and safety function are not activated.
Deinitialization Conditions
a. The window moves down 15 times in succession.
b. Power supply is interrupted while the engine is running.
b. Driver door open, ignition off, window at Hard Stop -> IGN On within 2 seconds -> within 5 seconds with ignition on, input manual down switch signal 3 times -> Deinitialization complete (if power is not turned on within 2 seconds or the operation is not completed within 5 seconds, the deinitialization process restarts from the beginning.)
Fail-Safe Mode Initialization
Motor Overheat Prevention: The software overheat prevention function is used to prevent motor overheating (EEPROM data must be retained in the ECU).
If the window is moved forcibly and the motor is faulty, the window switch may switch to fail-safe mode for user safety.
Power Window Operation in Fail-Safe Mode
Auto/Manual-Down function is available.
Auto/Manual Up Function Unavailable
(When using Auto/Manual Up, the window rises 20 mm and stops moving.)
