Receiving Traffic Information from the RDS (Radio Data System)
PROCEDURE
1. The receiver will automatically switch to receive an RDS station when the FM band is selected. When switched, the name of the corresponding radio station and the RDS indicator will appear on the display. If you tune to a new FM station broadcasting RDS information, the frequency value will appear on the display, and after 5 s the name of the corresponding radio station will appear.
2. Tune to the desired station broadcasting traffic information using one of the following methods.
Tuning by Preset, Automatic Search, and Manual Tuning
3. For the tuning procedure, refer to subsection 1.5.2.
Tuning by Scanning the Entire Band
4. When the TP (Traffic Program) indicator appears on the display, this means the station will broadcast traffic information and EON data.
5. Press the "TI" button to switch the receiver to the TI band. The TI indicator will appear on the display. If the receiver does not find a station within 20 s after pressing the "TI" button, a search will begin based on the alternative frequency list (AF list), which ends when a station is found. A beep and the SEARCH indicator on the display signal that the receiver has switched to this mode.
6. If tuning to a station after one full band scan is not possible due to a weak signal, the scan will repeat with increased sensitivity, indicated by the DX symbol on the display. If the signal is too weak, the receiver will stop searching and NOTHING will appear on the display for 2 s. If the receiver still does not tune to a TI band station within another 20 s, the scan will start over.
7. When TI appears on the display, the receiver will receive a TI station only if tuning is performed by automatic search.
8. If you need to receive traffic information while the tuned station is broadcasting another program, press and hold the TI button until the TA (Traffic Announcement) indicator appears on the display. When this indicator appears, the receiver stops receiving all programs except traffic information. If no traffic information is being broadcast at that time and a cassette is loaded in the player, the player turns on and automatically turns off when the traffic information begins. After the broadcast ends, or if the signal becomes weak, the previous program resumes.
9. To return from traffic information reception mode to normal mode, press and hold the TI button until the TA indicator disappears from the display.
Network Tracking Mode (NF Mode) Setting
10. Used to search for an RDS station across the entire frequency band. Press and hold the NF button for no more than 2 s; the receiver will tune to an RDS station, and the program being received will not be interrupted. The NF indicator will appear on the display. When reception conditions deteriorate, tuning to a station broadcasting the same program will be performed based on the alternative frequency list received from the RDS station. List of other EON networks (Enhanced Other Network)
11. If the RDS station (with EON data) you are listening to does not broadcast traffic information in TI and TA modes, the receiver automatically switches to a program broadcasting traffic information based on the EON alternative frequency list. After the traffic announcement ends, the previous program is automatically resumed. A beep sounds at the beginning and after switching.
12. To cancel NF mode, press and hold the NF button for at least 2 seconds. When the REGON symbol appears on the display, the receiver tunes to an RDS station with an identical Program Identification code (PI code). When the REG OFF symbol appears on the display, the receiver tunes to an RDS station with an identical three-digit PI code.
13. If the receiver does not detect an RDS station within 60 seconds, all programs are muted and a search begins for a station with the same PI code based on the alternative frequency list (AF list). If a station cannot be found due to weak signal, a search of all FM stations starts again. A beep and the SEARCH symbol on the display indicate that the receiver has switched to this mode.
14. If tuning is not possible due to a very weak signal, the search stops and the NOTHING symbol appears on the display for 2 seconds. To cancel NF mode, press the NF button twice. The NF symbol disappears from the display.
