4. If equipped, place the warning triangle to warn other drivers.
5. Apply the parking brake and engage first or reverse gear (place the shift lever in Park on vehicles with an automatic transmission).

7. To prevent the jack from sinking into soft ground, place a board under the jack.
Wheel Replacement Procedure
PROCEDURE

1. Remove the jack. The jack is secured on the right side of the luggage compartment, under the access cover.

2. The spare wheel and tools are located in the recess inside the luggage compartment, under the trim panel. Unscrew the retainer, remove the spare wheel, pry off and remove the wheel cover.

3. Loosen the wheel nuts of the wheel being replaced.

4. Place the jack under the reinforced section of the body sill. Turn the jack handle clockwise until the wheel is lifted off the ground. Use the wheel wrench and the wheel cover removal tool as the jack handle.

5. Remove the wheel nuts and remove the wheel.

6. Install the spare wheel, then install and tighten the wheel nuts. Check the wheel nut torque after lowering the vehicle.

7. Install the wheel cover so that the valve stem is aligned with the molded mark on the cover.
After Wheel Replacement
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the wheel chocks.
2. Store the jack and tools in the luggage compartment, in their correct positions.
3. Check the tire pressure of the installed wheel. If the pressure is low or you do not have a tire pressure gauge, drive at low speed to the nearest garage and inflate the tire to the correct pressure.
