Checking the Coolant Level

GENERAL INFORMATION
On vehicles with a sealed cooling system, periodic coolant topping up is not required. A rapid drop in coolant level or frequent topping up indicates a leak that must be repaired. Inspect the radiator, hoses and connections for signs of leakage.Only add a mixture of antifreeze and water.
PROCEDURE

1. With the engine cold, the level should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the reservoir. With the engine warm, the level should be slightly above the MAX mark.

2. If coolant must be added, wait until the engine has fully cooled, then remove the reservoir cap and the radiator filler cap.

3. Add coolant up to the edge of the radiator filler neck and tighten the cap securely. Add coolant up to the MAX mark on the reservoir and tighten the cap.
