Measuring Rear Disc Brake Pad Thickness

Parking Brake Cable at the Rear Disc Brake Caliper Housing, Models with Rear Disc Brakes
1 – parking brake cable end fitting;
2 – parking brake caliper actuating lever;
3 – parking brake cable return spring;
4 – spring clip;
5 – parking brake cable sheath.

Checking Brake Pad Thickness:
6 – friction lining material;
7 – friction lining backing plate.

On the rear disc brake assemblies, pad wear is checked in the same way as on the front. The wear limit here is also 2 mm, not including the backing plate thickness.

Brake discs must be checked at the same time as the pad wear inspection. The wear limits and procedure are the same as for front disc brake assemblies.
