Removal of Brake Booster
PROCEDURE
Remove the master brake cylinder.
Remove the vacuum hose.
Remove the left panel below the instrument panel (refer to Interior).
Remove the pivot pin in the head of the brake booster control rod clevis.
Unscrew the self-locking nuts of the brake booster mounting inside the vehicle.
Then remove both nuts of the brake booster mounting in the engine compartment.
Remove the brake booster through the engine compartment.
If a new booster is installed, adjust the length of its control rod while it is off the vehicle:
The distance between the center of the clevis hole and the mounting surface with the four studs must be 271 mm (tolerance 0.5 mm).
After adjustment, tighten the locknut securely.
Before installation, lubricate the pivot bolt with multipurpose grease.
Use only a new retainer for the pivot pin and new self-locking nuts. Install a new O-ring between the brake booster and the master brake cylinder.
