Checking the power steering fluid level

Regular check
The fluid level (No. G 002 000) is checked in the transparent reservoir located on the left side of the engine compartment.

PROCEDURE

To check the fluid level, let the engine run at idle.

Set the wheels to the straight-ahead position.

The fluid level must be between the "max" and "min" marks.

The side markings are not visible on all models. In this case, use the dipstick located under the reservoir cap.

Unscrew the cap (caution, spring), wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth, and place the cap on the filler opening (do not screw it on). Remove the cap again and check the fluid level on the dipstick. It must be between the marks.

If necessary, add fluid up to the "max" mark.

In any case, loss of fluid indicates a leak in the system. In this case, it is important to first locate the leak source before topping up the fluid.
