Fusible Links

~1min read

GENERAL INFORMATION

Some circuits are protected by fusible links included in their electrical circuit. Fusible links are typically used to protect circuits not equipped with fuses, such as the ignition circuit.

Blade fuses on these models are similar to conventional fuses in that a blown fuse (melted element) is easy to identify visually.

To replace a blade fuse, first disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the blown fuse and install a new one of the same rating (available from a dealer or automotive accessory store). Before replacing the fuse, always try to determine the cause of the overload that blew it.
