Removal and installation of front wiper motor

REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Removal and installation, checking and adjusting the end position of the wiper arms.

2. Remove the windshield washer nozzles. Refer to Removal and installation of windshield washer nozzles.

3. Disconnect the wiper motor connector.

4. Unscrew the 3 mounting bolts (10 mm wrench) –1–.

5. Carefully fold the wiper frame –2– forward (arrows) and then remove it together to the left from the cowl compartment.

6. Disconnect link rod –3– from the ball joint (arrow in illustration).

CAUTION

Do not loosen the nut (10 mm wrench) on the motor crank.

7. Unscrew the 3 bolts –2– (“10” wrench) from the wiper motor bracket.

8. Remove wiper motor –1– from the bracket. INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. Secure wiper motor –1– with crank to bracket –2–.

2. Move link rod –3– to the end position. In this position, points (a) must be in one line.

3. In this position, install the link rod onto the ball joint head (arrow).

4. Connect the wiper motor connector.

5. Preliminarily insert the frame with motor into the cowl compartment.

6. Fold the wiper frame forward and tighten to 8 N·m.

7. Install the windshield washer nozzles. Refer to Removal and installation of windshield washer nozzles.

8. Install the wiper arms. Refer to Removal and installation, checking and adjusting the end position of the wiper arms.

9. Connect the negative (–) battery cable.

CAUTION

Activate the automatic function of the power windows, and set the clock and enter the radio code. Refer to Entering radio code.
