Removal and installation of rear window wiper

Rear window wiper 1 – cover 2 – nut, 15 N·m 3 – arm 4 – seal 5 – nozzle 6 – O-ring 7 – motor 8 – nut, 8 N·m 9 – rubber ring 10 – spacer 11 – blade

REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. Fold the cover up.

2. Unscrew nut –2–.

3. Lift the arm up and move it sideways in both directions. This releases the arm from the motor shaft taper.

4. Unscrew the nut and remove the arm.

5. Remove the tailgate interior trim panel. Refer to Removal and installation of tailgate trim panel.

6. Disconnect connector –1– and remove nozzle hose –2–.

7. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the motor (indicated by arrows) (10 mm wrench). INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. Carefully insert the motor through the opening in the rear window. Make sure the seal is positioned correctly, as shown in the illustration.

2. Secure the motor, tightening to 8 N·m.

3. Connect the connector and install the nozzle hose.

4. Install the tailgate interior trim panel. Refer to Removal and installation of tailgate trim panel.

5. Install the arm on the shaft so that dimension a is 25 mm. Measure the dimension from the lower edge of the glass to the lower edge of the blade.

6. Tighten the lever to 15 Nm.

7. Fold the cover back.
