Checking the Heated Rear Window
GENERAL INFORMATION
When the rear window heating is switched on, the area with the visible wire lines should clear of coating or snow after a short time.
PROCEDURE
1. If there are malfunctions, first check the fuse in the fuse box.
2. If the fuse is good, remove the rear window trim and check the connector at the left and right side of the glass. If necessary, clean off corrosion.
3. If the heating still does not work, check the central comfort electrical control unit; refer also to the Comfort System Electrical Equipment subsection.

4. If the heating conductors are broken, a conventional conductive paint can be used for repair. To do this, clean the damaged area with thinner or ethylene.
5. Apply adhesive tape to both sides of the damaged area and apply conductive paint with a small brush.
6. Dry the paint at approximately +25°C for 24 hours. Hot air may also be used. At +150°C the paint dries in 30 minutes.
CAUTION
Do not switch on the rear window heating until the paint has fully dried. Do not use gasoline or other solvents to clean damaged elements.Test yourself
