Horn Removal, Installation and Inspection

Behind the front bumper on the right side, a high-tone horn and a low-tone horn are installed. To protect the horns, a relay is installed between the horn switch and the horns. When the horn switch is pressed, the relay circuit is closed.

REMOVAL

1. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.
2. Remove the engine undershield. Refer to Engine Undershield Removal and Installation.

3. Remove the horn mounting bolts (2) with brackets. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the horns.

INSPECTION

1. Connect the horn directly to the battery using jumper wires.
Connect the violet-blue wire to the positive (+) battery terminal and the brown wire to the negative battery terminal. After connection, the horn should sound.

* The horn can also be reached by removing the right air grille from the bumper. To do this, pull the grille forward at the right bar.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the horn and secure it with the bolts.
2. Connect the electrical connector.
3. Install the engine undershield.
