Headlamp Removal, Installation and Adjustment

* For removal and installation of the headlamp lens or headlamp unit, refer to the Section "Headlamp Range Adjustment Motor Removal and Installation".

REMOVAL

1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect the inner (2) cover (1) and carefully press it down out of the retainers (3) using a screwdriver. Disconnect the outer cover (4).

3. Disconnect all connectors at the rear of the headlamp.
4. Mark the headlamp position. To do this, outline the washers with a felt-tip marker. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the headlamp forward.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the headlamp and secure it with the bolts.
2. Connect the lamp connectors.
3. Hook the cover on the outside under the headlamp, tilt it inward and secure.
4. Check the headlamp adjustment.

Headlamp Adjustment

Correct headlamp adjustment is very important for driving safety. Precise adjustment requires special equipment. Therefore, only the location of the adjustment and the conditions that must be met are specified here.
a) Tire pressure must be as specified.
b) The vehicle must not be loaded. A person weighing 75 kg must be in the driver's seat.
c) The fuel tank must be filled to at least 90%.
d) The vehicle must be on a level surface.
e) Bounce the front of the vehicle several times so the front suspension reaches its normal working position.
f) The headlamp range adjustment must be set to "0".
g) Headlamp adjustment must be performed on low beam only. The light beam inclination for a standard headlamp must be 10 cm per 10 m of length.

PROCEDURE

1. Adjust the headlamps by turning the adjusting screws (1) and/or (2).

2. The illustration shows the right headlamp. The left headlamp screws are arranged in mirror image.

Fog Lamps

PROCEDURE

1. Adjust the fog lamp inclination with a screwdriver through the opening in the grille.
2. The light beam inclination for a standard lamp must be 10 cm per 10 m of length.
