Windshield Wiper
The wiper drive is located in the reservoir under the windshield. The wipers and washer are controlled by an electronic module depending on vehicle speed.
On a stationary vehicle, the wiper operating speed is reduced.
As vehicle speed increases, the wiper intervals decrease.
An automatic intermittent mode may be fitted as an option. The AIC (Automatic Intermittent Control) system has a rain sensor and controls the intervals depending on the moisture on the windshield. The rain sensor measures windshield moisture by reflection of infrared light emitted by a light-emitting diode. A dry windshield fully reflects infrared light, while a wet one reflects it partially.
Wiper Blade Replacement
Wiper blades must be replaced when windshield cleaning quality is poor. Either the blades alone or the blades together with the blade holders can be replaced. If only the blade is replaced, check the blade holder for deformation.
REMOVAL
1. Lift the wiper arm and hold it in this position.
2. Move the clip (1) in the direction of the arrow and remove the blade sideways away from the windshield.

3. Using pliers, squeeze both steel strips on the closed side of the blade and remove them sideways from the upper bracket. Remove the rubber element together with the strips from the remaining part of the brackets.

4. Insert the new blade without strips into the lower brackets.

5. Insert both steel strips into the first groove of the blade so that the slots in the strips face the rubber and secure them in the groove tabs.
6. Compress both steel strips and the blade with pliers and insert into the upper clip so that the clip tabs on both sides engage the slots (arrow) of the blade.
7. Insert the blade through the arm and push back the locking clip.
8. Fold back the arm. Make sure the blade contacts the windshield along its entire length.
