Using Cruise Control on Hilly Terrain
In this manual: Instruments and Controls
~1min read
How cruise control works on hilly terrain depends on vehicle speed, vehicle load and the steepness of the grade. On a long uphill grade, the accelerator pedal may be needed to maintain speed.
On a downhill grade, the brakes or a lower gear may be needed to reduce speed.
Pressing the brake pedal naturally cancels cruise control.
Many drivers find this driving mode inconvenient and do not use cruise control on long grades.
