Wheel replacement

When a tyre wears evenly, a wear indicator will appear on it in the form of a band across the tread. This indicates that the tread depth on the tyre is less than 1.6 mm. In this case, replace the tyre.
Do not wait until the wear band appears across the entire tread before replacing the tyre.
NOTE When replacing tyres, we recommend using tyres that are the same as those originally supplied with the vehicle.
Otherwise, handling will be affected.
WARNING - Wheel replacement To minimise the risk of losing control of the vehicle due to a tyre failure, and therefore causing an accident:
- Replace tyres that are excessively or abnormally worn, or that are damaged. A worn tyre can adversely affect braking, steering control and traction.
- Do not drive with tyres over-inflated or under-inflated.
Tyres may wear abnormally or become damaged.
If you decide to replace a radial tyre with a cross-ply tyre, you must also change all the others, including the spare.
Replacing the temporary spare tyre (if equipped) The tread of a temporary spare tyre has a shorter service life than that of a conventional tyre.
Replace it when the tread wear indicator bars appear on the tyre. The temporary spare tyre must be replaced with one of the same size and construction as the originally supplied tyre and must be fitted to the same spare wheel. The temporary spare tyre is not designed to be fitted to a standard-size wheel, and conversely the temporary spare wheel is not designed to fit a standard-size tyre.
