Removal

PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

* If your vehicle's audio system is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you know the correct activation code before disconnecting the battery.

2. On models equipped with manual window regulators, remove the window regulator handle by moving the cloth behind the handle back and forth until the retainer (indicated by the arrow) extends far enough to be removed. A special tool is available for this procedure, but it can be done without it.

4. After releasing the retainer, pull out the handle. On models equipped with power window regulators, remove the switch assembly, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove it.
5. Remove the outside mirror trim cover (see Subsection 11.17).

10. Once all clips are disengaged, release the door trim, disconnect all electrical connectors, and remove the trim panel from the vehicle by carefully pulling it upward.

11. To access the inner door, remove the plastic water shield protecting the door from moisture. Remove the plastic cover carefully, avoiding tearing. Remove the plastic sealing grommets if necessary.

Installation

PROCEDURE
1. To install the door trim panel, first install the water shield in place. If necessary, apply more sealant to secure it in position.
2. Before installing the door panel, make sure that all clips in the panel that may have come loose during removal or remained in the door are installed.
3. Connect all electrical connectors and position the panel. Press on it to secure the clips, and install all screws and the door handle/armrest. Install the manual window regulator handle or the power window switch.
