On-board computer

~2min read

The trip computer in the Volvo S80 (2nd generation, 2013–2016) provides useful driving information such as fuel consumption and average speed. This section explains the differences between the analog and digital instrument cluster and how to operate the trip computer immediately after unlocking the vehicle. It also provides instructions for correctly acknowledging warning messages so that the trip computer functions can be used again. This keeps the driver well informed and allows the system to be operated efficiently.

The trip computer can record, calculate and display information while driving.

The content and appearance of the trip computer vary depending on whether the vehicle is equipped with an analog or digital instrument cluster:

  • Trip computer - analog instrument cluster
  • Trip computer - digital instrument cluster

The trip computer can be checked and adjusted directly after the instrument cluster has automatically lit up when the vehicle is unlocked.

If the trip computer is not operated within approx. 30 seconds of opening the driver's door, the display in the instrument cluster goes out. To operate the trip computer again, you must then either turn the key to position II or start the engine.

CAUTION

If a warning message is displayed while the trip computer is in use, the message must be acknowledged before the trip computer can be activated again.

  • Acknowledge the message by briefly pressing the OK button on the turn signal lever.

Group menus

The trip computer has two different group menus:

  • Functions
  • Heading in the instrument cluster

The trip computer functions, or the option headings, are each listed in a continuous loop.
