Removing and installing the rear windshield wiper motor
Wet the rear window with water.
Run the rear wiper system for approx. 2 minutes and switch it off with the wiper switch.
This moves the wiper arm to the park position.
Mark the resting position of the wiper blade on the rear window with masking tape. To do this, stick a strip of tape on the rear window directly next to the wiper blade. During installation, place the wiper arm back onto the serrations of the drive shaft so that the wiper blade is directly next to the tape strip.

Pull the plastic cover upward. Remove the retaining nut - arrow - and pull the wiper arm off the bearing shaft.

Remove tailgate trim panel with 4 screws - 1 -.
Unclip trim panel at arrows and remove it.

Disconnect the multi-pin connector from the wiper motor. Unscrew the complete motor with bracket and remove it.
Check the inner and outer seals for the wiper shaft in the tailgate for porosity or damage. A defective seal must be replaced without fail, otherwise water can enter the luggage compartment.
If necessary, fit new seals for the wiper shaft.
Bolt the wiper motor with bracket to the tailgate and tighten.
Connect the multi-plug.
Briefly reconnect the battery negative cable (-).
Run the wiper motor briefly and switch it off with the wiper switch so that the motor stops in the park position.
Install the wiper arm. To do this, place the wiper arm on the taper of the drive shaft, align it with the adhesive marks on the rear window, and press it on.
Fit the spring washer and tighten the wiper arm with the nut and 15 N·m.
Install the rear wiper washer nozzle cap, see page 282.
Fit the tailgate trim panel, clip it in place and bolt it down.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. Set the clock and enter the radio anti-theft code.
