Roof Rack
When carrying loads on the roof of the vehicle, observe the following:
The roof gutters are designed to drain rainwater. Therefore, do not use conventional roof racks intended for installation on the vehicle roof. To avoid unnecessary risk, use only genuine Audi roof rack support brackets.
These support brackets are the basis of the complete roof rack system. For safety reasons, use additional fasteners to transport luggage, bicycles, windsurfing boards, skis and boats. All components of this system are available at an Audi Service Center.
Damage resulting from the use of other roof rack systems, or from installation not in accordance with the instructions, is not covered by the warranty.

The roof rack support system must be installed exactly as described in the enclosed instructions. Remember that each bracket may only be mounted between the marking lines on the upper decorative trim, which are visible only when the door or the quarter window is open.
Roof Rack Load Capacity
The maximum permissible load of the luggage and roof rack is 75 kg.
When using fastening systems with a lower load capacity, the full load capacity of the roof rack cannot be used. Load the roof rack only up to the limit specified in the roof rack installation instructions.
Distribute the load evenly. Do not exceed the permissible roof load (including the mass of the roof rack system) or the permissible gross vehicle weight. Refer to Specifications.
When transporting heavy or bulky items on the roof, remember that the vehicle's driving performance changes due to the shifted center of gravity and increased aerodynamic drag. Take these changes into account when selecting driving mode and speed.
Make sure the rear liftgate does not strike the roof rack load when opened.
