Spare wheel

The vehicle is equipped with a spare wheel with a standard tire. Some export versions are equipped with a temporary-use compact spare wheel instead of a standard tire.

The spare wheel is located in the recess under the luggage compartment floor and is secured with a special bolt.

When using a spare wheel with a tire that has a directional tread pattern, note the following:

The direction of wheel rotation is indicated by an arrow marking on the tire sidewall.

Mounting the wheel facing opposite to its normal direction of rotation, as determined by the tread pattern, is permissible only temporarily, since the tire then cannot fully deliver its optimum driving characteristics, such as resistance to hydroplaning, low noise and wear resistance. Please keep this especially in mind in wet weather, and adapt your speed to the road conditions.

To make full use of the advantages of a directional-tread tire, replace the damaged tire as soon as possible or remount the spare wheel so that it rotates in the correct direction.

When the vehicle is equipped with a compact spare wheel, note the following:

The compact spare wheel is intended for short-term, occasional use only. Therefore, replace it with a wheel with a standard tire at the first opportunity.

After installing the compact spare wheel, check the tire pressure as soon as possible. The pressure should be 4.2 bar.

Do not exceed a speed of 80 km/h. Avoid accelerating with the accelerator pedal fully depressed, sudden braking and aggressive cornering!

The compact spare wheel is specially designed for a specific vehicle model. Therefore, it must not be used on vehicles of other models. Spare wheels of other makes must not be used either.

For technical reasons, snow chains must not be fitted to the compact spare wheel.

Therefore, if it is necessary to drive with snow chains, remove and reinstall the compact spare wheel. In turn, install the removed rear wheel in place of the front compact spare wheel. It is recommended to fit the snow chains before installing the wheel. After this, bring the tire pressure to the specified value as soon as possible.

Standard or winter tires must not be mounted on the compact spare wheel rim.

Never drive with more than one compact spare wheel in use.
